Today was Monaco day... and was wonderful! I woke up bright and early to get to the bus at 8h30, and drove about 2,5 hours into a different country; crazy how you can do that here…
Anyway, upon arrival, we were guided to the main square where there was to be a ceremony of the changing of the guard. It was interesting; it was unlike anything in the US. That lasted for only a few minutes, then we were set loose to explore for the next 3 hours. I walked all over, down to the port, and through the centre ville.
On our way home, we stopped at a parfumerie named Fragonard in a hilltop town called èze, and were given a guided tour of the factory. We were taught the difference between parfum, eau de parfum, and cologne de parfum being that parfum is 15% concentration, eau de parfum is of 10% concentration, and cologne de parfum is of 5% concentration. I would love to return to èze, it looks like a beautiful town, and I would love to further explore it.
Next weekend is Cannes, so there’ll be another blog coming soon! Also, next weekend I will be moving back to La Tour d’Aigues to start my summer au pair job. I can’t wait to be back in the countryside, where I can hike and enjoy nature every day.
